Celebrating Exceptional Immigrants Concert-Fundraiser Friday Evening, April 6, 2007 at 8PM at The River Road Unitarian Church 6301 River Road Bethesda, MD 20817 Join NCI in celebrating the talent and works of highly acclaimed Turkish Violist and Composer Osman Kivrak.Tickets are $5.00 for students and $15.00 for regular admission. There is a suggested donation of $20.00. You can buy tickets or make a donation online using PayPal on this website. Print your receipt and show this at the door as confirmation of your ticket. Tickets will also be available at the door. Please RSVP for this event by March 30, 2007 to: mocrosby@usanci.org ABOUT OSMAN KIVRAK: Osman Kivrak, violist and composer, was a winner of the National Scholarship Competition in Turkey, the Baltimore Chamber Music Awards, the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards, the Culver (California) Chamber Music Competition and of three Maryland National Parks and Planning Commission Awards. He performs with the Sunrise Quartet, the Richmond Chamber Players and with Currents. He is also Artistic Director of Concerts at the Beach in Delaware and of the Davies Concert Series. He received a Master of Music and Doctorate of Music degree from the Catholic University of America. Before coming to the United States, he received his Bachelor of Music from Gazi University in Turkey and studied at the Guildhall School of Music in London. He has recorded chamber music for the Klavier, Amerimusic, Arizona University Recordings and Living Music labels. He has also performed at the Spoleto Festival in the USA and Italy and he has toured Europe a number of times as a chamber music player. His works have been performed in Washington DC at the Kennedy Center, the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Library of Congress and throughout the United States and in Turkey. Formerly a professor at the Izmir State Conservatory in Turkey, Dr. Kivrak currently teaches viola and chamber music at American University where he is Artist in Residence.
